7900-series
The interior of bus #7900 at CTA's South Shops Maintenance Facility on February 6, 2014. The interior of the 7900-series Novas features several departures from past models. The buses feature new lightweight "Gemini" model seats from Chicago-based Freedman Seating Company. A new slate gray seamless floor design replaces the deep blue grooved flooring that CTA has traditionally used in its bus fleet. Rows of lights now span across the aisle in addition to the traditional rows of lights along the sides of the bus. An improved bulkhead design along the driver's side of the bus provides for increased vertical clearance.
